Professional history

Ken joined the patent and trade mark profession in 1977 and trained under Geoff Bayliss and John Bushell at Boult Wade & Tennant in London.

In 1982, he moved to RGC Jenkins & Co in London, working with Keith Beresford and, in the following year, assisted in the setting up of Beresford & Co.

In 1989, in order to work away from London and nearer to home, he moved to the Windsor office of D Young & Co and became an equity partner the following year. In 1993, while Chairman of the firm, he transferred to its main office in Southampton and also moved house to Hampshire.

In 1995, he retired from D Young & Co in order to set up his own practice.
